Nina Backman performs her Silence Meal at Flagey Studios, Brussels

Friday 26 January, Nina Backman performed her immersive performance, Silence Meal for the patrons and supporters of Flagey to open their Arvo Pärt weekend. This was the first staged performance and took place in the stunning surroundings of Studio 2.

When we silence our words, something potent arises that has no chance of getting to the surface otherwise. When we do it together around a shared meal, the experience is magnified and unexpected.
