Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra European tour conducted by Kazushi Ono

A real tour de force for the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and its leader, Kazushi Ono, together with violinist Vadim Repin: no less than 6 major European cities in 11 short days - Stockholm, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Berlin, Essen and, to finish on a high note, Vienna for the last night on Monday 23 November!

Ravel, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Debussy were part of this collection of major musical masterpieces, but also a the European premiere of a contemporary piece by Toshio Hosokawa, "Nach dem Sturm", for two sopranos and orchestra, symbol of the 2 cultures coming together and written after the Tohoku Earthquake of 2011.

Great success for the Japanese conductor, constantly reaffirming his love of Europe and showing yet again his youthful spirit, wonderful energy and quiet receptivity. He is proud to present his orchestra around Europe in conjunction with the orchestra's 50th anniversary and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and so he should be!
