Roth and Gürzenich complete Asia tour

François-Xavier Roth and the Gürzenich Orchestra, Cologne embarked on their first international tour together, with a visit to Korea and China last week.

They performed two programmes: Webern: Passacaglia, Beethoven: Violin Concerto (with Vilde Frang) and Brahms' Symphony No.2 in Seoul; and the Beethoven concerto coupled with Mahler: Symphony no.5 in Beijing and Shanghai.

The Gürzenich Orchestra was also awarded the 11th annual Jungen Ohren Preis (Young Ears Prize) in its Production category for its "Ohrenauf!" youth and schools programme.
