Philipp Von Steinaecker makes his TMSO debut
Philipp Von Steinaecker is heading to Japan to make his debut with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra as part of their Subscription Series. This is a rare opportunity to hear the works of Suppé and Offenbach, including the Japanese premiere of Offenbach’s Concerto Militaire for Cello and Orchestra, featuring the distinguished French cellist Edgar Moreau.
The concert takes place on October 2 at 14.00 (local time) at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
This venture precedes Philipp’s first major performance as Principal Guest Conductor with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra in Ljubljana on 24 October (to be repeated on 25 October). The programme features works by Beethoven, Haydn and Schubert, showcasing the cellist Enrico Dindo, as he joins the orchestra for Haydn's Cello Concerto No.2, op.101.
