Pelly's Don Pasquale brings uproarious delight to the SF Opera

Described as "glamorous", "imaginative" and "seriously funny" Laurent Pelly's effervescent
production of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale delighted opening night audiences at San Francisco Opera on 28 September.

With set designs by Chantal Thomas and costumes by Pelly himself, a rotating stage, inventive 20-century costumes and a large Italian house that literally turns upside down create a visual illusion and perfectly capture the farcical fun.

The cast features Heidi Stober as Norina, Lawrence Brownlee as Ernesto, Maurizio Muraro as Don Pasquale and Lucas Meachem as Dr. Malatesta. Conducted by Guiseppe Finzi,
performances continue throughout October.

“Pelly’s production intrigues by bringing out both the darkness and the levity in the opera”
