Nika Gorič at the Berlin Philharmonie
Nika Gorič makes a successful debut at Berlin's Philharmonie with Berlin-based Korean composer Unsuk Chin's 'Puzzles and Games', pre-premiered in its Ensemble Version. This concert with the Karajan-Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker opened with Robert Schumann’s Overture, Scherzo and Finale, op. 52. But it is mainly Ravel's dazzling Le Tombeau de Couperin which counterbalanced Chin's playful music, drawing inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s novel Alice in Wonderland.
The evening conducted by the Spanish star conductor Pablo Heras-Casado, closed with Mozart’s penultimate symphony.
