Marc-André Hamelin nominated for BBC award

Marc-André Hamelin has been nominated for the BBC Music Magazine's Instrumental Award, for his recording of his own compositions for Hyperion Records.

The magazine's five-star review described the release: 'This endlessly fascinating collection is played with style and incredible subtlety', with the reviewer saying, 'I don’t recall ever giving a recording the full ten stars. But then, I hadn’t heard Hamelin play his own work.'

The final awards are chosen by the public, with voting open until 23 February, and will be announced on 23 April. Vote here.
