Maestro Arts welcomes Philipp von Steinaecker
We are delighted to announce the signing of conductor Philipp von Steinaecker for general management. Steinaecker first came to international attention as the recipient of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s Melgaard Young Conductor position and since then has appeared as guest conductor with orchestras including the Swedish Radio Symphony, New Japan Philharmonic, Claudio Abbado's Orchestra Mozart or Camerata Salzburg.
Equally at home in the German romantic repertoire as in the works of the Second Viennese School, his passion and profound stylistic understanding for the music of the baroque and classical periods led him to found his own period instrument orchestra Musica Saeculorum. Together they have appeared at the Cologne Philharmonie, the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence and the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk in Austria and released an already impressive discography including Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, Bruckner's Symphony n.1 and Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. Their next recording, a collaboration with soprano Camilla Tilling featuring arias by Mozart and Gluck, will be released in February 2017.
