'Laurent Pelly once again demonstrates his rhythmic virtuosity, his jubilant and sensitive comedic touch, handling everything with masterful discretion. His choreographed movements of the characters irrigate the plot with a refreshing humour'
Tribune de Genève

Laurent Pelly's effervescent production of Rossini's La Cenerentola has just opened the new season of the Grand Théâtre de Genève. Created in Amsterdam in December 2019, it was due to open in Geneva in May, but was postponed because of the Covid crisis. It marks the return of live opera to the stage of the Grand Théâtre, and is fully compliant with current health regulations, as described in this France Musique article.

Pelly also designed the costumes, in collaboration with Jean-Jacques Delmotte. With sets designed by Chantal Thomas and lighting design by Duane Schuler, the productions is conducted by Antonino Fogliani and features Anna Goryachova, Edgardo Rocha and Carlo Lepore.
