Hartmut Haenchen creates War & Peace
Hartmut Haenchen this season resumes his War and Peace project in various cities. September sees him travel to Brussels to conduct the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Martinu's Memorial to Lidice, Hartmann's Concerto funebre, which gives its name to the concert and Bruckner's Symphony number 3. This Bruckner symphony also starts a series of Bruckner based concerts that Maestro Haenchen will conduct around the world.
On October 1 and 3 Haenchen will conduct the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic once more with a programme of Martinu's Memorial to Lidice and Beethoven's Symphony number 9, the soloists are Ann Petersen, Susanne Resmark, Per-Håkan Precht and Anders Larsson.
Following the concerts in Stockholm, Haenchen will rekindle his relationship with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart for concerts on October 11 and 12 with an all Brahms programme of the Violin Concerto and the Symphony number 1.
