George Jackson stands in at Paris Philharmonie
Conductor George Jackson will jump in to conduct Ensemble intercontemporain at the Philharmonie de Paris on 7 March, in the French premiere of Steve Reich’s Reich/Richter. He conducted the work in Luxembourg in November 2019, at the Rainy Days Festival.
Reich/Richter is a collaboration between the composer and artist Gerhard Richter, as well as film maker Corinna Belz, who has created a film based on their musical and artistic works.
Jackson returns to Paris on 2 July to direct the Orchestre de Paris in a concert bringing together the music of Steve Reich and Philip Glass with that of David Bowie and Radiohead. He is currently rehearsing Genia, a new opera about Beethoven, which opens at Theater an der Wien on 5 March.
