François-Xavier Roth premieres Benvenuto Cellini in Cologne

François-Xavier Roth conducts his first opera performance as General Music Director of the Cologne Opera on Sunday evening with Berlioz' exciting and challenging opera, Benvenuto Cellini, in a new production by La Fura dels Baus.

With Roth's unimpeachable Berlioz credentials and La Fura's innovative and theatrical approach to production, this is sure to be a highlight of the season.

Performances at the Staatenhaus in Cologne (while rebuilding continues at the Opera House) are on 15, 19, 21, 26 and 28 November.
