Eivind Aadland makes his Japanese Debut with Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra
Eivind Aadland, the celebrated Norwegian conductor, brings a flavour of Scandinavia to Tokyo. On 29 April, Aadland makes not only his debut in Japan but also marks the occasion by doing it with one of Asia's finest ensembles; the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. The concert that takes place at 14:00 at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre showcases a stunning programme of some of Scandinavia's most brilliantly evocative works. The first half comprises of masterworks by Alfvén, Nielsen and Sibelius while the second half is made up of excerpts of Grieg's eternally popular Peer Gynt with the Japanese soprano Sara Kobayashi.
