Dynamic Developments at Maestro Arts!
We are delighted to announce that on 1 June 2016 Myriam Blundell from Myriam Blundell Projects, and Thomas Hull from Ingpen & Williams will join Maestro Arts bringing their clients with them. Myriam will be Director of Visual Arts and Thomas will be Director of Artist Management.
Rachel Van Walsum remains as Managing Director with Joeske van Walsum as Director.
Jordi Martin, who has been with the company from the outset, managing artists such as François-Xavier Roth, is appointed Director and Nicholas Goldwyn becomes Company Secretary.
Since its launch almost 5 years ago, Maestro Arts has gained a considerable reputation for both its concept and innovative approach to artist management. This expansion and extension of the scope of our artist list and staffing provides an excellent base for the future of the Company. Thomas and Myriam bring a wealth of experience and range of contacts to a fabulous new team consolidating Maestro Arts’ position as one of the most imaginative, effective and attractive artist management companies; small and intimate enough to maintain real team spirit; large enough to provide comprehensive worldwide service.
Now with 15 staff, the Company owns and runs its own Art Gallery, curates international multi-disciplinary projects, represents a broad range of artists including conductors, composers, soloists, string quartets, singers, festival directors, stage directors, stage designers, costume designers, visual artists, film makers and others, dedicated to bringing music together with other art forms.
Myriam Blundell started her career as a performing member of the Montreal Philharmonic Society. In 2004, she founded a curatorial agency, producing and showcasing experimental forms of displaying visual and performative arts within contemporary art practice. Working with a variety of mediums, she has provided both commercial and creative guidance to an eclectic pool of artists, including Michael Nyman, Jan Fabre, Jody Shapiro, Roland Biermann, Karen Knorr, Isabella Rossellini, Anne Deniau and many others.
Thomas Hull also started his career as a professional musician, working extensively as a freelance conductor and clarinettist. He is now a much sought after and respected artist manager having spent 25 years with Ingpen & Williams, becoming a Director in 1996. He discovered and launched the careers of a considerable number of artists, including the outstanding Paul Lewis, as well as managing long established and distinguished figures such as Alfred Brendel. In 2008 Thomas and his wife, violinist Ruth Rogers, were invited to form the Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra - one of the country’s leading side-by-side orchestral training schemes. He inherited a love of visual art from his father who was a distinguished gallerist and art collector.
