Congratulations to Allan Clayton and Pavel Kolesnikov who have been nominated in the 2017 Gramophone Awards shortlist.

Pavel is nominated in the Instrumental Category for his disc of Chopin Mazurkas, released on the Hyperion label in September 2016 to huge critical acclaim. The disc has already won the Diapson d'Or. Gramophone said of this disc: 'An ideal realisation of these exquisite dances, the likes of which I never dreamt of hearing...these performances are the most beautiful and strikingly original I’ve heard.'

Allan is nominated twice, firstly in the Recital Category for his disc of Handel arias, Where'er you walk, with Classical Opera Company, released on the Signum label. Gramophone said of the disc: 'It’s a lovely programme...Clayton’s tenor has been getting steadily stronger and more muscular over the past few years, and there’s more evidence of that here.' Secondly, he is nominated in the Opera Category, as part of Glyndebourne's production of The Rape of Lucretia (DVD) in which he played the role of the Male Chorus.

The top three in each category will be announced on 16th August, and the ceremony itself will take place on September 13th in London.
