Gramophone Awards announce their Shortlist

Gramophone magazine has announced the top three recordings in the ten main categories of the annual Gramophone Classical Music Awards. The final 10 category winners will be announced on August 31 in advance of the awards ceremony in London on September 13 2018.

The Instrumental category is once again an all-piano affair, featuring Marc-André Hamelin and Leif Ove Andsnes's disc of works for two pianos by Stravinsky on Hyperion Records.

The Orchestral category features François-Xavier Roth, conductor and Les Siècles for their recording of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé recorded by Harmonia Mundi.

In the Recital category Les Siècles and François-Xavier Roth are nominated again for their recording of Mirages with Sabine Devieilhe released by Warner Music UK.

Les Siècles have also been nominated for a special award in a new category, orchestra of the year.
